Warning: the following post is dominated by frills, florals and serious frockage, courtesy Elie Saab!
Elie Saab certainly put on a visual delight on the runways for Spring 2014, with the flawless amalgamation of lace, sheers and florals. The focus was evidently on spring dresses, which is not surprising, given what the design house stands for. The colours were strategically appointed to correlate with the beautiful florals of Spring; namely- camellia white, rosy pink, bright bougainvillea, and vivid green.
The collection ventured slightly off-centre, with the floral printed black and white, to target the edgy consumers. Embellishment came into play to spruce-up the simple prints. These lines were not some of my favourites.
Although not very spring or garden-esque, almost no collection is complete without the black variations, as was the case for Elie Saab. The collection is rounded-off with the lace black adaptations of the dresses which I know will be spotted on the red carpet throughout the year.
My personal favourites were the rosy pink and vivid green lines. Enjoy the visual extravaganza below and click on the pictures for a closer view.
